What does Mastodons « Colony of birchmen» and the book «Aphrodite’s basin», have in common?
Aphrodite’s basin is a book by the author Gert Nygaardshaug. It is the third book in a triology about Mino from the book Mengele Zoo, which you can read about here https://dragonfly.eco/mengele-zoo-gert-nygardshaug/ .
Mino is not the main character in Aphrodithe’s basin. I would refer to the book as a clever and even somewhat heartwarming book about the apocalypse. This does not mean that the scenario itself isn’t scary enough. You can read about the book here: http://immaterial.no/books/aphrodites-basin/ but it doesn’t mention, why they suddenly feel a disturbing smell and hears frightening sounds, - which is the start of the apocalypse.
When I first discovered Mastodons « Colony of birchmen» I was immediately thinking of this book.
Why?
Because the apocalypse is happening when the forest start to grow, as in brutal rage, and the roots turns the water to poison.
