The sound of Grandmother North’s life. Part 1. 0-5 years.
When I was a little child, my mother used to sing for me, and she also played classical music, folk songs and we listened a lot to the radio.
I now will share some of this musical influenses with you.
Warning: some of them are in Norwegian.
The first one is a traditional lullaby, my mother used to sing: Den fyrste song = The first song.
The second one: «You and me and we to» are a traditional song in a more pop-like style, which was one of my favourites as a two year old.
One shouldn forget about « The hall of the mountain king» which also are pretty popular at the kindergarten. This is a composition from one of Norways most known composers - Grieg.
And then I was about to discover this all time hit, that I think has lead a lot of Norwegians in to rock’n roll. It was released in 1974, and my first memory of it, is that I begged my mother to play this over and over again.
And dont forget about this one, which was often played at our house.
