Saharan desert sand in the arctic.
This week, the airflows brought dust from Sahara over sentral Europe and up here in ther arctic. When this is happening, the sunsets gets even more beautiful, and I sure have enjoyed the nice wievs.
Some minutes after i tok this pic, from my bedroom window, the sun went behind the mountain, therefore I decided i would take a little drive to take even nicer pictures, where you still could see the sun.
I jumped into the car, and after a few minutes i saw a sharp, bright red sun, and small blue clouds. I couldnt find one place to park the car, because there where others who probably had the same idea, or just stopped their cars, because of the spectacular wiev.
But...there is also a problem: This sand is making the ice in the arctic melt faster. Some researchers found this https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2018/10/181010105615.htm
And then we just take a big jump in to the musical sand dunes,
Starting with «Egypt ( The chains are on) « - a song that now reminds me of the Egyptian revoloution
even if I got to know this song, more than 25 years before.
I was looking for a quite hilarious video of the next song, but I could not find it, so I think we just take one with the band in it. This always gets me in a good mood..
And then I found something that went in the other direction, an algerian Black metal band - Barbaros. My first thought about the band was that they were heavily inspired of Norwegian black metal, and then I discovered that they had covered some songs from Mayhem, Burzum and Darkthrone.
When I was looking for videos of this band, I found metal bands from Angola, Kenya and Uganda, and some good progrock from Algerie and Morocco. It would have been great fun, if someone would do spotify playlists with themes like : "North african rock bands" , "Jazz from Malaysia", "Great British Fado singers" ," Ska from Finland" , "Norwegian reggae" and so on... Maybe I should put music that have moved to other places, in a playlist later on... ?
