Rising, - probably my all time favourite album

From an early age, I have enjoyed exploring peoples books and music. As a kid I used to visit my aunt and uncle and thus their records.

 When I was about 14 I had the pleasure of finding this wonderful treasure in my uncle’s record collection. I put on the record and immediately knew that this was something special, when I heard the first seconds of Tony Careys magical intro to Tarot woman. And then « Stargazer» with Cozy Powells intro and « A light in the black» showed up on the b-side.

Nor would I say that a  great guitarist like Richie or Jimmy Bains basslines, actually, reduced the magic, - need I say more?

 I was familiar with Ronnie James incredible voice in his band Dio, but this album was a true ear opener to his lyrical and vocal skills. Since that day I have lost one mixtape and a CD, and worn out another tape and a CD with it.

Ronnie James himself doesn’t seem as happy with it in this interview, - he actually calls it « self indulgent shit» .
